Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh, India is known for its exquisite and finely woven Maheshwari fabrics. These fabrics are woven together from mercerised cotton and chandler fabrics. This uses zari with floral borders on the body of the cloth in a range of mild to bright colours. The most distinctive features of maheshwari fabrics are the light-weight and shiny lustre. Lately, simplistic maheshwari fabrics are now being beautified with hand block prints in Bagh and Bagru.
